OREANDA-NEWS. March 1, 2011. The Lithuanian forwarding company AD REM is reporting strong performance in 2010 and bright outlooks for 2011.

Member of the World Freight Network, Ad Rem employs about 300 staff at two offices in Klaipeda and Vilnius, with the three departments forwarding, warehousing and custom brokerage generating 64, 26 and 10 percent, respectively, of the company's total revenues in 2010.

-We are working in a highly competitive market. Our national association of forwarding companies counts some 50 members, but including all forwarders with staff from two to 300, the total number is probably close to 100. Still, Ad Rem is among the country's top-10 forwarding agents, and we are seeing revenue in January 2011 up 40 percent on the same month in 2010, says Darius Brekys, Ad Rem manager.

-In addition to our membership of the World Freight Network, we benefit from the position of Lithuania serving as a bridge between the EU and Russia/CIS. Although Lithuania is a small country, our geography is one asset, another is our ability to deal in both European and Russian languages and sharing the business cultures of both markets.

-We are thus situated in Lithuania - but most of our business is generated outside the country and channeled through the network. We provide all services, including trucking of cargo shipments to and from Russia/CIS contracting local partners in the individual markets as sub-suppliers while managing the flow of transportation, says Mr Brekys.
