OREANDA-NEWS. March 4, 2011. Effective from March 4 this year an Israel airline Arkia will open scheduled flights Moscow (Domodedovo) – Tel-Aviv (Ben Gurion) – Moscow (Domodedovo).

The flight will be operated twice a week by Embraer 195 and Boeing 757-300 with the following schedule:

Passenger traffic between Moscow and Israel has been growing dynamically for the recent five years. The number of passengers carried for the period from 2006 till 2010 has been increased by 83% and reached 471 thousand passengers. 93% of passenger traffic is attributed to destination Moscow – Tel-Aviv. It should be noted that this particular route saw an increase by 70% for the mentioned five years when 437 thousand passengers benefited from this popular destination.

Summer of 2008 has become a remarkable time when visa regime for citizens of Russia going to Israel was considerably simplified thus giving to air traffic between the countries an extra impetus.

In 2010 passenger traffic of Domodedovo airport to Israel destinations reached 456 thousand passengers which is 22% more compared to 2009. Considering volumes of international passenger traffic in Moscow Domodedovo Airport - Israel has the sixth position in this chart while it is a rising by one position compared to the previous year.
