OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2011. During a working visit to Kazan, Yury Trutnev, the RF Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, examined KAMAZ bottle-gas driven vehicles.

Accompanied by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Yury Trutnev saw the NEFAZ-5299-30-31 urban methane bus and a new model of 2011 – the KO-560G municipal vehicle on the KAMAZ-65115-30 bottle gas-driven chassis also running on compressed natural gas. The both vehicles were made in OOO RariTEK, OJSC KAMAZ’s partner developing, manufacturing and servicing vehicles running on gas fuel. The KAMAZ machinery was highly appreciated by the Minister.

According to Rafael Batyrshin, Director General of OOO RariTEK, natural gas (methane) is ecologically clean and safety fuel, and KAMAZ machinery can help smoothly pass from diesel and gasoline fuel to natural gas. A spectacular test with a white towel produced a great impression when Rafael Batyrshin put it to an exhaust pipe of the gas-powered vehicle and showed that it stayed clean and white.

The use of compressed natural gas (methane) as motor fuel is considered to be efficient and eco-friendly. Over ten years ago, KAMAZ was actually the first Russian enterprise which started mastering production of bottle gas-driven vehicles on its chassis.
