OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2011. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it has completed installation of a 824-inch, Diamond Vision display system at Pocarisweat Stadium in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. The new screen replaces the previous electrical scoreboard built in 1992, and is the first large-scale LED screen installed at the stadium, the home of J. League Division 2 soccer club TOKUSHIMA VORTIS. The screen is scheduled to be first used for the club's home season opener on March 6.

The 18.72 meter x 9.36 meter screen, one of the largest of its kind in Shikoku, incorporates high-luminance light-emitting diodes (LEDs) aligned vertically and horizontally in a 15-millimeter dot pitch (see specifications below), and the latest digital screen controllers. Pocarisweat Stadium is a category-1 track and field facility authorized by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations to host J. League matches as well as national track and field competitions. The stadium, operated by Tokushima Sports Promotion Foundation, was built in 1971 inside the grounds of Naruto Otsuka Sports Park. The screen was ordered by Tokushima-based Shikoku Electric Industry Co., Ltd., a key contractor to the Tokushima prefectural government. LEDs used in the screen are manufactured in Tokushima prefecture.
