It has been proved again that Chusovoy Metallurgical Works springs are of high quality: products manufactured by Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW, Perm Territory), part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK) are used in the KAMAZ trucks that won the Dakar super race. Vladimir Chagin, a member of the KAMAZ-Master team, won the rally for the seventh time.

"From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you, the labor team of KAMAZ, the Russian KAMAZ-Master team, and Vladimir Chagin on the victory in the Dakar Rally," reads the letter of congratulation from OMK President Vladimir Markin to KAMAZ Director General Sergey Kogogin. "The KAMAZ-Master team crews won the entire victory podium in Dakar-2011. We are happy that Chusovoy Metallurgical Works made its contribution in the success achieved by KAMAZ. I whole-hearted wish you and all of the KAMAZ employees stable and fruitful work, new labor achievements, robust health, and well-being and I wish the KAMAZ-Master team and Vladimir Chagin new victories and great personal happiness!"

CMW-made springs incorporated in the trucks used by the KAMAZ-Master team are unique small-leaf springs differ from standard springs in that they are lighter in weight and more durable. Different types of CMW-made springs, including small-leaf ones rated among "Russia's 100 Best Goods" in 2005, 2007, and 2010.

KAMAZ is CMW's largest customer for springs. For the Kama automobile plant, CMW produces at present more than 30 types of springs, small-leaf springs and ones treated using the bulk surface hardening technique.
