OREANDA-NEWS. March 09, 2011. A regular meeting of the construction control panel for Leningrad nuclear power plant Phase Two took place. The meeting noted that construction works at Leningrad II were proceeding as planned. In particular, at Unit 1 containment building the floor is being built; wall are erected at the steam chamber building; at the turbine and water treatment building the floors at planned elevations are constructed etc. At Unit 2 the work is also on schedule.
 
At present, on Leningrad II site the work is carried out at 61 facilities, with 3,175 people being employed. It is planned to bring up the number of workers up to 5,500 people this year.
