OREANDA-NEWS.  March 15, 2011. In-line with its commitment to using fewer resources and reducing waste, CROC recently joined Greenpeace’s Green Office project. All 9,600 light bulbs in CROC’s offices are now energy-saving, and the use of recycled paper towels has enabled the company to prevent one hectare of forest from being felled each year.

“Over 50 companies, including Intel, Google, and UPECO, have joined the "Green Office" project since its launch in Russia over two years ago. Our recommendations are relatively easy to implement and can help you significantly reduce environmental impact and save resources and money. We’ve proven it. Greenpeace has reduced monthly office expenses in Moscow by at least 12 percent”, said Vladimir Tchouprov, Head of Energy Department, Greenpeace Russia.

“Energy efficiency is one of our core beliefs and we initially planned and constructed our headquarters as an intelligent building. For instance, our heating system automatically controls heat supply depending on the season, building location, and the number of employees, while a facility operator controls lights remotely. We are also implementing energy-saving technology in our current projects. For example, we only use dynamic UPSs and free-cooling systems and we minimize energy consumption in our new outsourcing data center”, remarked Alexander Shirokov, Director of Intelligent Building Department, CROC.

In addition to energy-saving technology, CROC also uses water consumption meters and FSC-certified recycled paper. We do not use harmful household chemicals containing chlorine and phosphates and carefully consider separate garbage collection and disposal strategies.
