OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2011. Atomenergoproekt Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Company (NIAEP, Rosatom enterprise) is planning to use French Dassault Systemes platform to develop a system of NPP life cycle management, in particular, with the reactors of the VVER-TOI project.

Valery Limarenko, NIAEP Director, reported to the journalists on Tuesday.
“For the first time we jointly develop the system of nuclear plant life cycle management. It includes engineering management, in particular, development and modification of a 3D-model and the structures management, field engineering, procurement and supply management, facility commissioning and its further operation management, as well the plant decommissioning”, — he said after the meeting with Silvain Laurent, Dassault Systemes Vice-President.

According to him, at present NIAEP does not have any system integrating the work of the constructors, technologists, builders and other services. “Now all this is kept in different computers, because it is very difficult. We will do this work in a single information system”, — NIAEP Director added.

He also reported that the new platform would be used for the first time for development of the NPP based on the VVER-TOI power units of new generation, which was a modification of the reactor for NPP-2006 project with improved characteristics, in particular, with the increased heat capacity and advanced passive safety systems.

The VVER-TOI project, a standard optimization project of NPP power unit of high capacity on the basis of the VVER water-cooled reactors, will allow reduction of the expenses on engineering, construction, operation, service and decommissioning of the power units. Earlier it was reported that Atomenergoproekt was going to finish the power unit development by the end of 2012.

Limarenko reported that partial industrial introduction of the new platform was scheduled to the end of 2012. “In the world, there is an extremely tough competition among the nuclear plant producers, and in this situation we manufacture the products which allow us gaining ground at the market”, — he summed it up.

Dassault Systemes, a French company, is one of the leaders in the world market of the life cycle management systems, in particular, the facilities of aviation and the automatic engineering systems, annually selling products and services for the amount over 1.5 billion Euro.
