OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2011. AtaHolding, having a target to progress both in the Republic and abroad by making investments in different fields of economy as well as  carrying out intellectual resources management and corporate governance has implemented the project of  a sport complex construction in Georgian Republic under Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative.

The holding reports that to implement this project   it has set up " AtaHolding Georgia" company in Georgia and started the complex construction in 2008.

"AtaHolding Center & Marneuli Sport Complex Georgia- Azerbaijan " having the capacity to hold international competitions will welcome the visitors  at Novruz Holiday for the first time ",- the report says.

Total area of the sport complex is 0.90 hectares. Total area of the construction is 3465.7 square metres.

The three-storeyed complex building includes a sport hall of 1008 square metres enabling to hold different sport competitions, fitness rooms for men and women, billiard hall, rooms for referees, coaches and sportsmen, medical aid room, room for guests, caf?, barber’s and hairdressing salons, sport goods store and other facilities to operate here. A computer hall has been created on the second floor of the complex. It is  designed to improve computer knowledge of Azerbaijani and Georgian pupils residing in Georgia. OJSC " AtaHolding " has  undertaken expenses for this education.

The mini-football playground of 742 square metres with artificial green covering in the open air is also ready to receive sportsmen. Besides  there are social conditions for the participants of Paralympic sport competitions here.

Total value of " AtaHolding Center & Marneuli Sport Complex Georgia- Azerbaijan " is AZN 1.782 million  equivalent  to USD 2.230 million.

By implementing renovation work on the overgrown territory in front of the sport complex a new park equipped with the latest facilities  has been laid there. The park area has been completely illuminated and all necessary conditions have been created for people’s rest. The lighted fountain erected in the park, comfortable and blistfully designed seats make the area look especially beautiful. Ornamental trees and plants have been grown at the territory of the park.

OJSC " AtaHolding " intends to closely take part in social programs and charity events in future as well as support  projects aimed to assist further development of the country’s culture and art   and improve level of education.

"We believe that this complex will become the favourite place for people’s rest , help the young to achieve success in sport and serve to strengthen Azerbaijani and Georgian people’s friendship". – the report says.
