OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2011. CenterTelecom OJSC reports that on 13 March, Russia's single voting day, it provided a reliable telecommunications in over 5,000 polling places in Vladimir, Kostroma, Kursk, Orel, Tambov and Tver regions.

In the course of preparation to the voting day the company checked the telecommunications channels, back up equipment, power supply facilities, and fire safety systems for correspondence with technical norms. The company's coordination groups were working in increased preparedness regime during the voting and in the course of votes counting.

The regional telecommunications and data transmission subsystems of the Elections State Automated System were formed in each region. The subsystems included points of connection with speed ranged from 128Kbps to 6Mbps. The special attention was paid to provision of telephone communications to the territorial and district election committees and to the Elections State Automated System's channels.

Provision of high quality communications on Russia's Election Day was a very important task for the company. During the pre-election campaign and Election Day CenterTelecom specialists were involved in 24 hours control over the telecommunications lines, daily audits of telephone communications channels in all elections committees. These measures allowed the company to provide reliable communications during the elections.
