"During Q1 Commercial Port of Vladivostok operated under normal working conditions", stated Director General & CEO V. Pertsev. In January 2011 the port continued handling cargo delivered under the contracts concluded in 2010. It was mainly due to export cargo that gained momentum at the port. Then export volumes of coke and metal products declined, down 18.5% as compared to the corresponding period of 2010, which attributed to the change of market condition in SEA. Cargo handling plan was made given the market expectations. If export volumes dropped in total cargo turnover, import cargoes were the absolute performers, having increased by 90.5%. The port experienced 41.4-percent growth in container handling over January-March 2010.
