OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2011. Baltic Data Center, a leader in the management of data centers and information systems in the Baltic States, has signed a contract with credit bureau Creditinfo for further cooperation in the provision of services pertaining to IT infrastructure lease, server hosting and system maintenance, the value of the three-year contract signed by the companies being LTL 2 million.

At data centres of Baltic Data Center, Creditinfo will further develop the information system "Infobankas". By way of using it, financial institutions exchange data about residents' and enterprises' applications as well as all financial obligations assumed from the very date of concluding a credit contract. Data that are subject to the highest security requirements are exchanged only upon receipt of a customer's consent. This information allows customers of Creditinfo to make decisions with regard to the granting of loans responsibly, having assessed all risks, and more rapidly.

The reliable operation of the information system "Infobankas" will be secured by a duplicated Internet connection provided by two service providers. Employees of credit bureau Creditinfo will also be provided by Baltic Data Center with e-mail services based on virtual-resource - cloud computing -  solutions.

According to Saulius Markunas, Director of Baltic Data Center, a company belonging to TEO Group, the lease of IT infrastructure is especially suitable for companies developing systems. "These services allow to not invest in technological equipment or specialists administering it, but rather to pay for the resources that are needed for the system to operate", - S. Markunas said.

"As the number of the system's participants and the volumes of stored data are increasing, we seek to ensure its stable operation, corresponding to growing user demands. While developing the system "Infobankas", it is most important that data about obligations assumed by the customers of financial institutions and performance thereof be stored in compliance with the highest requirements as well as be expeditiously and continuously accessible to market participants. We are sure that this will be ensured through cooperation with Baltic Data Center, - said Andrius Bogdanovichius, General Manager of credit bureau Creditinfo.

Last year Creditinfo invested nearly LTL 1 million in the system "InfoBankas". Both in this year and in 2012 it is planned to allocate more LTL 1 million for investment in the system.

The system "Infobankas", managed by credit bureau Creditinfo, has more than one million natural and legal persons and almost one million contracts from diverse financial institutions registered in it. By this system, it is pursued to enhance responsible lending through exchange of data relating to the financial obligations of persons when they apply for a loan.

Creditinfo also manages the Defaulting Debtors' Administration Information System (SAIS), which is used by all the banks, leasing, consumer credit, telecommunications, fuel supply, insurance, agricultural and distribution network enterprises and most quick-credit companies operating in Lithuania. SAIS contains detailed information about overdue debts of private and legal persons as well as additional legal, economic and contact information of legal persons.
