OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2011. Sergey Novikov said that the possibility of establishing a sliding period of regulation for “Federal Grid Company”.

Federal Tariff Service of Russia is discussing the possibility of introducing a seven-year long-term tariff regulation for electricity supply companies.

"We are discussing this possibility, but the decision has not been made yet" - said the head of FTS Sergey Novikov.

From 2011, power distribution networks in Russia have moved to the method of RAB- based tariff regulation.

Sergey Novikov said that the possibility of establishing a sliding period of regulation for  “Federal Grid Company”.  It is mean that decision on tariffs will be  taken each year for the next five years. It will give the possibility for  companies and investors to understand what the price parameters are  set for the next period.

At the moment, RAB-tariffs are set for five-year period every five years.
