OREANDA-NEWS. April 18, 2011. Zhdanivsky and Yaresksvsky sugar plants of ASTARTA have confirmed the high quality standards of their work, as well as the products, by passing an audit based on the platform SMETA (evaluation of working conditions and occupational safety), which was carried out by Bureau Veritas. The audit also included some other aspects of the environmental protection and transparency of business activities, according to the requirements of AIM-progress (Initiative for the evaluation of suppliers, which involves many large international companies).

The choice of the auditing system SMETA wasn't accidental, as the ideology of the standard - "continuous improvement and development in order to maximize the ethical business conduct" -  closely matches the strategic goals and vision of ASTARTA.

The independent audit confirmed the commitment of ASTARTA to this approach. It should also be noted that both Zhdanivsky and Yareskivsky sugar plants have been acknowledged as those which comply with the requirements of "Fundamental principles of suppliers of Coca-Cola Company".
