OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2011. A delegation of the Ministry of Energy led by Deputy Energy Minister Andrey Shishkin paid a familiarization visit to the Crisis Center of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The representatives of the Ministry had a meeting with the Concern’s top management, namely, Director General Sergey Obozov, his deputies – Director for Production and Operation of NPPs Alexander Shutikov, Sales Director Alexander Khvalko, as well as other high-tier managers of the utility.
 
Vladimir Khlebtsevich, Deputy Director for Production and Operation of NPPs and Director of the Department for Emergency Preparedness and Radiation Protection of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, presented on operations of the Concern’s Crisis Center for the meeting participants.
 
Elaborating on the system for prevention and elimination of emergencies, he emphasized that the Rosenergoatom’s system was integrated in the ROSATOM’s system.
 
V. Khlebtsevich noted that the Crisis Center created conditions for all emergency response participants to work in the uniform information space which incorporates nuclear power plants, Scientific and Engineering Centers, Situation and Crisis Center of ROSATOM, National Crisis Management Center of EMERCOM, Rostechnadzor etc. Thereat, the information system employs up-to-date land-based and satellite information and communications channels.
 
The representatives of the Ministry of Energy walked down all zones and premises of the Crisis Center and familiarized with operation principles of expert groups, information systems, software packages used to calculate radiation accident consequences, archives of the teams providing assistance to nuclear power plants (OPAS). They were demonstrated capabilities of video conferencing with NPPs and Technical Support Centers in IBRAE RAS and RPA Typhoon.
 
Basing on results of the meeting its was pointed out that the system for prevention and elimination of emergencies existing in Rosenergoatom Concern met requirements imposed on members of the Unified State System for Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies, and was up to the world-class level, on the whole.
