OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2011. The cotton sowing campaign is in full swing in Mary Velayat, where 165,000 hectares are allocated to cotton fields this year. Thousands of hectares are sown with cotton every day in the heat of the campaign. Given that the campaign is to be completed in the third decade of April, the agricultural work is speeded up.

Proper and timely fulfillment of the tasks set to agricultural workers owing to the high pace of the sowing campaign is a result of the large-scale preparatory work conducted by local authorities, tenant farmers, machine operators, agronomists and other agricultural specialists.

The critical success factors include the high professional skills of machine operators. The etrap production associations of the Maryobahyzmat Public Corporation have prepared well for the campaign. Over 500 state-of-the-art seeding machines and 500 tractors are engaged in the sowing campaign. Machines and equipment to be engaged in further treatment of crops stand ready. The maintenance departments in Mary, Bayramali, Yoloten and the repair shops of the etrap production associations of the Obahyzmat Association have carried out the large-scale work.

Over twenty mobile repair crews supplied with equipment are operating in all regions during the sowing campaign. They are to fulfill a very responsible task – to repair and maintain agricultural machines and removable equipment in field conditions and to avoid lay-ups.

The completion of the sowing campaign in a timely manner, adherence to agrotechnical requirements and high-quality field works will ensure that rich harvests of ‘white gold’ will be reaped this year.
