OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2011. Azerbaijani national energy producer Azerenerji OJSC lowered generating power in April 2011 by 15% compared to March’s index. In 2011 the Azerenerji system has already generated 39.7% of overall power generation in 2010, when it made up 98.9% of the 2009 figure.

The Azerenerji’s press service, citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office, reports that it was generated 1.7 bn kWh of electricity in April 2011 versus 1 bn kWh in March, 1.8 bn kWh in February and 1.9 bn kWh in January.

Last year’s highest generation was registered in January (1.9 bn kWh).

“This April it was generated 1.3 bn of kWh of power at thermal electric power stations and 400 million at hydroelectric power stations. In March it reached 1.8 bn kWh and 200 million kWh, in February 1.6 bn and 200 million kWh, and in January 1.7 bn and 200 million kWh respectively.

“Over Jan-Apr 2011 generation was 7.3 bn kWh, including 6.5 bn kWh at TEPS and 800 million at HEPS,” it was reported.

In 2010 it was generated 18.4 bn of kWh of power. Data on thermal and hydroelectric power stations was not published.

In 2009 power generation made up 18.6 bn kWh (including 16.3 bn kWh at thermal power stations and 2.3 bn kWh at hydroelectric power stations) and in 2008 - 21.2 bn kWh (including 19 bn kWh and 2.2 bn kWh respectively).
