OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2011. "Connectivity Scorecard" is an annual research that measures the efficiency of ICT use for social and economic development. The 2011 research has been released recently conducted by Berkeley Research Group and Communicea for Nokia Siemens Networks, which commissioned the study.

The authors of the study define the efficiency of ICT use a totality of interaction of hardware infrastructure, software and skills embodied in people, businesses and governments, as well as deliberate and productive use of ICT. All these indices are examined with regard to ICT contribution to increase of efficiency and social and economic growth.

The Connectivity Scorecard researchers focused on 50 countries. These have been divided into two scorecard groupings according to their economy type — resource-driven economies and innovation-driven economies. As a result two separate rankings are made.

According to the authors of the research Russia is the third in the list. In 2009 it was on the 6th place and last year — on the 5th. Turkey, Argentine and Brazil follow Russia. From CIS countries only the Ukraine is in the list: 8th place compared to 10th in 2010 and 13th — in 2009. The first one is topped by Malaysia, Chile — is the second.
