OREANDA-NEWS. May 20, 2011.  The exhibition of the US companies and the Turkmen-American business forum started in Ashgabat on May 19. The representative delegation led by the Assistant of the U.S. First Deputy Secretary of State Jeffrey Pyatt and the chief executive of the Turkmen-American business council Eric Stewart arrived to the Turkmen capital to take part in this important international economic event, which demonstrates the aspiration and potential of the two friendly countries in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.

As was reported, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov accepted the chief executive of the Turkmen-American business council Eric Stewart. During the meeting the Turkmen leader underlined the significant role of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council in development of bilateral cooperation in its priority directions. In his turn, the chief executive of the Turkmen-American business council confirmed the interest of business circles of the USA in escalating of mutually advantageous business contacts to Turkmen partners and participation in joint projects. Bright acknowledgement to it is the increasing interest of the leading American companies in participation in an exhibition and work of a business forum held in Turkmen capital within the next few days as well as opening of representative offices of the "Case" and "General Electric" american companies, which proved themselves as reliable partners in supplying agricultural equipment to Turkmenistan and gas turbines to Turkmen power stations, in Ashgabat.

The members of the american delegation attended the festive celebrations and ceremonies of opening of new facilities arranged in Ashgabat in honour of the Constitution Day and the Day of Revival, Unity and Poetry of Magtymguly Fragi and had an opportunity to see the scale of changes reflected in a new style of Ashgabat.

It should be noted that the delegation includes over 60 large american companies, the world leading manufacturers in their spheres. Some of them are long-term partners of our country, whereas other ones study the investment climate and demonstrate keen interest in cooperation at the prospective Turkmen market.

Thus, the exhibition of the US companies opened in the Exhibition Center showcases products, technologies and services in the fuel and energy sphere, transport, telecommunications and communications, construction and building materials industry, agriculture including its equipment and machinery as well as the sphere of food and chemical industries, education, etc.

The agenda of the fifth Turkmen-American business-forum held in the Mizan business center will focus on discussion of the issues on strengthening cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in the sphere of transport, communications and informative technologies, agriculture, etc. Heads and top-managers of american business will take part in the forum. The members of government, heads of the relevant ministries and departments, Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs will represent Turkmenistan at the forum.

In the framework of the visit to Turkmenistan the representatives of the US business circles will hold negotiations in a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan.
