OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2011. Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announced the results of the competition for the title of "Best Russian Exporter 2010" and JSC IRKUT was declared as the winner of the aircraft industry nomination.

The contest is held to support exports of industrial products. Winners are determined by the method developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the basis of enterprises’ consolidated reports of export.

IRKUT Corporation wins the "Best Exporter of the industry" for the third year in a row.

President of JSC IRKUT Corporation Alexey Fedorov said: “IRKUT Corporation invests money received from exports in the development of engineering and manufacturing capabilities and the realization of perspective projects, primarily in the creation of MC-21 new generation airliner.”

 JSC IRKUT Corporation is a vertically integrated enterprise providing the full spectrum of aircraft design, manufacture, sales and after-sale support for a wide range of military and civil aircraft.

IRKUT takes the leading position in the Russian aircraft manufacturing. At the beginning of 2011 the order book of IRKUT was over 6 billion USD. The company’s income came to more than 1.6 billion USD in 2010 according to IFRS standards. Income doubled due to increase of export of Su-30MK multirole fighter. IRKUT has 15% share of the Russian arms export.

Being the prime contractor IRKUT Corporation is actively working on the realization of main perspective project of Russian civil aviation – the creation of MC-21 short/mid range family of passenger airliners.
