OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2011. The increase of extraction of owns energy resources are the key task of the government. It was declared by the Ninister of Energy and the Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko during his working trip to the Poltava region.

During the trip the Minister has visited a number of industrial objects of the region, in particular “Оpishnya” and “Soloha” where he was familiarized with technological processes which are applied at the enterprises.

Within the framework of visit Yuriy Boyko held meeting at "Soloha" enterprise concerning an increase of own extraction of gas and attraction of investments into gas industry. Leadership of the Poltava region, heads of “Naftogaz Ukraine”, “Ukragazvydobuvannya” and “Poltavagasvydobuvannya” also were attended at the meeting.

The participants discussed the important issues of capacity output of hydrocarbons and advanced recovery technologies of condensate wells, in particular an increase of extraction of gas due to construction of modern compressor stations (on example of Oposhnyanske deposit), introduction of technology of pumping nitrogen instead of natural gas (on example of Tymofiivske, Kulchyhynske deposits), as well as questions of restoration of wells with use of the advanced technologies, such, as technology of coiled tubing which will be introduced at Kopylivske gas field deposit.

Speaking at the meeting the Minister stressed that the issue of increasing domestic production of hydrocarbons is very important for Ukraine.

"This year we achieved a strong tendency to increase gas production. The more we produce its own natural gas, the less will pay for the import, take away money from own economy and give it other countries "- the Minister said.

He also said that the Government plans to invest in gas extraction USD 300 million (about 2,4 billion UAH) that would add 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas to a level that is extracted now.

Yuriy Boyko noted that that the question of the exhausted deposits is important. “At the beginner of this year it was started the pilot project on an increase of extraction of the exhausted deposits. This project is very perspective and will give us 200 million cubic metre of gas a year. The most important, that we will not admit decrease in extraction on own exhausted deposits", - the Minister emphasized. He added, that investments also to be put in compressor preparation: "In the future, we plan to use compressors of own production".
