OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2011. Ambitious plans to develop the Moscow metro might require help from foreign companies, and German Siemens and Korean Hyundai are ready to lend a hand.

The two industrial giants are ready not only to build lines and provide rolling-stock, but also take charge of sections of rail, in exchange for certain concessions, Vedomosti reported.

By 2017 the city authorities are going to have constructed 82,5 km of new metro lines, and replaced 64 escalators and 1,296 train carriages.
