OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. Koks visited by German design engineers Representatives from the German engineering firm UHDE GmbH have arrived for a working visit to OAO Koks. The goal of their visit to the coke chemical plant in Kemerovo is to review existing production facilities and to consider the possibilities for developing a byproduct-free coking plant (BPFCP).

UHDE GmbH is a subsidiary of the ThussenKrupp EnCoke group, and is widely known around the world as a developer of plans and technologies in the sphere of classical coke chemistry. UHDE was invited to participate in a tender to develop a plan for the construction of a BPFCP.

The UHDE delegation, made up of Vice President of Sales Klaus Gerschnitz and the lead manager for coke developments, Hans Reichelt, visited Koks in order to better understand the existing production process and discuss in detail what the Kemerovo coking facility requires in the future plan.

The German design engineers will determine whether or not they will participate in the tender and in the development of a design for the BPFCP in the near future. In the context of a detailed examination of BPFCP operations, Koks specialists have already spent time at various factories that boast similar facilities in the US and China. The study of this technology is still underway. A final decision on the selection of a design engineer for the BPFCP at Koks will be made by the end of the year, once all of the technical and commercial proposals have been reviewed.
