OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2011. Renovation of the process flow is now complete at zone No. 2 of the Crushing and Enrichment Factory, which has made it possible to boost productivity of the first-stage mills and, without reducing volumes of processed ore, attain the targeted quality from difficult quartzites.

This flow change consisted in introducing a third stage of crushing, for which purpose a first-stage mill was moved to the second. This flow is original in the sense that both the second and third crushing stages include a fine trommeling operation. In order to determine the posibilities for the new process flow, tests were conducted aimed at increasing the concentrate quality.

They showed that the flow allows for a concentrate containing more than 66.05% iron without decreasing the volumes of quartzites processed.
