OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011. Belarusian Potash Company will increase its potash prices for Brazilian consumers in July 2011 to USD 550 per tonne for large consumers and USD 560 per tonne for medium-sized consumers, the company said in a press release.

The new prices will remain effective during the third quarter.

According to BPC Spokesman Filipp Gritskov, the key drivers of prices are the high level of demand, growing farm produce prices and limited stocks of fertilizers globally.

BPC, headquartered in Minsk, is the exclusive exporter of potash fertilizers produced by OJSC Uralkali and OJSC Belaruskali. The two companies hold respective stakes of 50% and 45% in BPC, and Belarusian Railway controls 5%. BPC accounts for about a third of the world potash fertilizer market.
