OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011. The questionnaire to evaluate candidate firms for the seventh portfolio of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) is available at www.isebvmf.com.br. The questionnaire is drawn up by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EAESP) and undergoes its online public consultation until June 24. There will be a face-to-face public consultation on June 14, from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. at the main hall of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Rua Itapeva, 432). The purpose of the consultations is to encourage the involvement of market players and of wider society in discussions regarding the Index.

After analysis of all of the contributions received during the consultation period, the questionnaire shall be submitted for approval by the ISE Deliberative Council (CISE) and presented to the companies on July 18. The eligible companies (issuers of the 200 most liquid shares on the Exchange) that wish to take part in the process should register by July 31 and answer the questionnaire by September 16. The index is made up of 49 companies at most, which are selected according to the performance they obtained in the questionnaire and in the process to corroborate the information that they supplied. The new portfolio will be published on November 25 and come into effect on the first business day of 2012.

The Index was launched on December 1, 2005, based on methodology developed by

GVces and with the financial backing of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The index evaluates sustainability questions, in an integrated manner and within the dimensions of: General, Nature of the Product, Corporate Governance, Economic-Financial, Social, Environmental, and Climate Change.
