OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2011.  Safety of modern NPP will be the core topic of International Forum ATOMEXPO 2011 which will be held in the CEH Manezh (Manezhnaya Sq., 1) in Moscow from June 6 until June 8.

The forum is organized by ROSATOM. The event will be attended by heads of leading nuclear companies, representatives of ministries and agencies from foreign countries, representatives of authorities and nuclear company-partners.

A specialized exhibition and congress “Nuclear Power Development: Break or Progress?” will be organized in the framework of the forum. At the congress, speakers will be Director General of ROSATOM Sergey Kirienko, US Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Chairman of the Commission of Atomic Energy of France Bernard Bigot, Director General of the World Nuclear Association John Ritch, President of the Japan Atomic Industry Forum Takuya Hattori, Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency of Hungary Josef Ronaki, Chief Executive Officer of Cameco Corporation Jerald Grandey, Chief Operations Officer for International Marketing and Projects Luc Oursel, President and Chief Executive Officer of USEC John Welch, Vice President of Alstom Power Patrick Ledermann; Chairman  of the Korea Nuclear Energy Promotion Agency Rhee Jae-hwan and others. More than 1,200 delegates, including over 300 foreign participants, are expected to attend the Congress.

During the congress there will be topical round-table sessions on acute issues of the nuclear industry development: “Stability of current reactors to natural disasters. Fukushima lessons”; “Promising projects of NPPs construction based on Russian technologies”; “Prospects of international cooperation on the new technological platform. MBIR international project”; “Infrastructure for nuclear newcomers. Risks. Legal support. Obstacles on the way of international cooperation”; “Prospects of nuclear education in countries developing nuclear power and nuclear newcomers”; “Power machine engineering. International cooperation development”; “New technological platform of uranium mining by geotechnical methods”; “Legal support of nuclear industry development”; “Investment projects in nuclear industry. Results. Prospects”; “Russia’s capabilities to produce isotopes for nuclear medicine and industry”; “Prospects of international cooperation in nuclear fuel cycle” and other.

The event is held for the third time. As compared to forum ATOMEXPO 2010, this year a number of delegates has increased by 25% and exhibition space raised by 15%. The exhibition participants include largest foreign companies, such as Areva, EdF, Alstom, CEA, Siemens, CNNC, Kazatomprom and other. Also, Russian exhibitors will include Rosenergoatom Concern, Fuel Company TVEL of ROSATOM, Atomstroyexport, Atomenergomash Group of Companies, Uranium Holding ARMZ, Rusnano, Skolkovo Foundation, Group E4, Group FNK, ASMPO AVISMA etc.
