OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2011. It is already the 12th time when OJSC KAMAZ becomes the winner of the "Best Russian Exporter" contest.

The Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade Ministry annually composes a rating of Russia’s top exporters in all economic sectors. KAMAZ won in the nomination "The Best Russian Exporter of the Industry – Automotive Industry (vehicles for transportation of goods and special-purpose vehicles)" according to the results of 2010.

Last year, under conditions of the crisis, the company sold 4,040 KAMAZ trucks in 43 countries against 3,891 units in 2009 and spare parts to the tune of over 1.5 billion rubles. Supplies of assembly sets for assembly plants in Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan and Vietnam formed a significant share of KAMAZ trucks exported in 2010 (23%). The top five largest importers of KAMAZ trucks are Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Cuba. KAMAZ exported almost one third of its exported trucks to the far abroad. KAMAZ production has become greatly popular in Africa, where sales increased by 86.7%, compared with 2009.

This year, KAMAZ tends to increase an export share in its total sales. Trying to become a global player in the automotive market, KAMAZ plans to gradually increase the share of exports in sales. Thus, under the company’s Strategic Development Program, it is scheduled to increase it to 20% in 2015 and to 30% in 2020.
