OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2011. KAMAZ created a new structure – the Council of Masters and Foremen – to solve production, technical and managerial problems in a professional way, to satisfy customers’ needs in time, to efficiently perform and improve standards, corporate culture and core values of the company based on principles and methods of Production System KAMAZ (PSK).

The main objective of the new organization is to arrange conditions for masters’ and foremen’s professional growth and career development, all-round development of their skills, to use young experts’ creative potential in the company’s development and, thus, strengthen its corporate spirit. First Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ – CEO Yuri Klochkov will manage activities of the Council.

One of important tasks of the Council is to find skillful masters and foremen with leadership qualities who can form the company’s workforce capacity in the future. This practice of personnel selection to create labour potential at KAMAZ was used as far back as the Soviet period. Introducing PSK and cooperating with its strategic partner Daimler, KAMAZ started using this nearly forgotten practice again.

To date, many world-known companies are seriously concerned about such an issue as the creation of their own talent pool. It has been observed that, under current conditions of economic development, the companies which pay attention not only to production volumes, but also to their human resources manage to keep their leading positions. Since the Soviet era, KAMAZ has never forgotten about intergenerational continuity. The emergence of the new structure – the Council of Masters and Foremen – should give renewed impetus to this phenomenon.
