OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2011. On June 09 RF President’s Administration HR Committee visited OJSC TANECO.

Accompanied by the Chief of RT President Office Yuri Kamaltynov and Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal Area, Nizhnekamsk Mayor Aidar Metshin, the guests visited the facilities of the 1st Stage of the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex, participated in the important discussion related to the qualified human resources training issues.

Prior to the beginning of the “round table” the committee members made a short Company museum tour. The main purpose of the museum is to introduce the history of the Company, the main Project milestones and corporate standards not only to the guests, but also to the employees of TANECO, and new comers in particular.

During the meeting Khamza Bagmanov, OJSC General Director, highlighted that the Company’s HR system is mainly based on more than 60-years experience of Tatneft, this being a serious advantage.

Considering the uniqueness of the Project, the complexity of the technologies and equipment, the highest requirements are applied to the personnel. The Company uses a system approach which gives an opportunity for comprehensive assessment of the candidates. The staffing process provides for several interviews: with the manager of the department, HR manager, and General Director.

Professional, social and psychological adaptation has become an important constituent of the healthy emotional climate in the Company. As a part of this discipline, a mentorship system has been implemented, after three months of probation a conclusion is made as to the employee’s appropriateness, questionnaire is filled. This allows the Company’s Management to deeply understand the environment inside the Company, to get familiar with the “fresh” outside opinion.

Special attention is paid to the personnel retention issues. In the conditions of Nizhnekamsk accommodating several oil refining and petrochemical facilities, staffing problem is very critical. However, OJSC TANECO managed to almost completely staff the Complex with the operating personnel. Having said this, the majority of employees (80%) are highly qualified people with wide experience. Along with the adequate salaries, comfort and safe labor conditions, opportunities to increase the qualification, opportunities for career and personal growth, favorable psychological environment in the team and a number of other factors contribute to the personnel retention.

Serious social factors are fixed in TANECO’s collective agreement which is also based on certain standards adopted by Tatneft. The standards provide for additional payments, premium and remunerations, benefits and guarantees, health care and accommodation.

During the conversation the lead of the delegation – Assistant of RF President Office on Civil Service and HR issues Vladimir Anisimov was interested in all nuances of the Company’s staffing policy under conditions of the developed enterprise. In conclusion, he noted that such a large-scale project as TANECO needs more publicity and deserves the closest attention of the federal media.
