OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2011. Alexander Vylkul, the chairman of the Dnepropetrovsk regional state administration, visited the construction site of the electric steel smelting complex Interpipe Steel.Alexander Kirichko, Chief Executive Officer of Interpipe, accompanied the Governor during the visit.

During his visit, the Governor reviewed the new substation "Pechnaya", the heart of power supply system at Interpipe Steel and found out more about the route of the unique 330 kW cable line. The governor also visited key sites of the future plant including the continuous billet casting machine, which is under construction at the moment as well as gas cleaning equipment.

‘The realization of the project is of great importance for the Dnepropetrovsk region. Interpipe Steel will not only bring jobs to the region, it is contributing to the whole Ukrainian economy and is symbolic of the country’s wider regeneration’, – said Alexander Vilkul.

Alexander Kirichko said: ‘Interpipe Steel is a key investment project for Interpipe. The new mill will be unique not only in terms of technology but also in terms of production standards. Interpipe Steel will be an example of a completely new attitude towards process organization and comfortable and safe working conditions. Interpipe Steel will be one of the most environmentally friendly metallurgical mills. Interpipe Steel represents the new face of metallurgy.’

During the Governor’s visit Alexander Kirichko emphasized the role of local and regional authorities in the construction of the new plant: "The project has met various challenges, which have been successfully resolved. I want to thank the Governor for his help and assistance throughout Interpipe Steel’s construction. This is a great example of cooperation between government and business and an important project for the country."
