OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2011. Pacific International Lines LTD (PIL) inaugurated its North Asia service to Commercial Port of Vladivostok on fixed day weekly basis.

The extended rotation of North Asia service, which now calls at Commercial Port of Vladivostok, covers several largest ports of Taiwan, China, Republic of Korea and Japan. Three sister ships Kota Dahlia, Kota Dunia, Kota Darjah with a maximum container capacity of 628 TEUs each are deployed on the trade route. The containerships are handled at Berth 9-10.
This weekly service provides not only cargo delivery from South Korea and China on regular basis but also offers direct transportation of containers from Taiwanese and Japanese ports to Commercial Port of Vladivostok. In addition, transit time for delivery of containers from the Japanese ports to the port of Vladivostok amounts to 1.5 days. The service makes it possible to attract additional export container volumes destined to SEA countries.

According to chief commercial officer Dmitry Domrachev, containerized cargo business is the port's top priority. Recovery of global economy positively affects container flows. This year the port is expected to handle 400,000 TEU, up 15 % compared to 2010. Currently Commercial Port of Vladivostok actively participates in negotiations with global operators in order to significantly extend and attract liner service to the port.

Singapore-based Pacific International Lines was founded in 1967. It operates a fleet of 135 containerships of different container capacity on numerous Asian, Pacific and other mainline routes.
