OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2011. On the 30-th of June in Amman (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) Atomstroyexport handed over a technical offer on construction of a NPP in Jordan to the customer, the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC).

The offer has been prepared by the Russian company as an EPC-contract.

The Russian offer for tender was prepared, together with Atomstroyexport, by Atomenergoproekt, OKB Gidropress, NRC Kurchatov Institute, TVEL JSC and a number of other key organizations of the nuclear industry.

The tender for construction of a one-unit NPP under the turn-key terms and an option for the second power unit in Jordan was called for on January 17, 2011. On the 29-th of March 2011, Jordan sent the bidders changes to the offer submission request, in particular, it was proposed to include in the bidding package an analysis of the proposed project with an account taken of the accident at Fukushima-I NPP in Japan. Atomenergoproekt performed the required analysis of NPP safety considering initiating events and failures that had taken place at Fukushima NPP, with analysis results incorporated in the offer package. On the 23-rd of June 2011 Jordan informed on shifting deadlines for submission of a financial offer to August 14, 2011.
