OREANDA-NEWS. July 4, 2011. In order to enable each of our customers to compare payment information according to the new Start and Basic rates, Latvenergo AS has begun sending out electricity payment statements to households that include an overview of the payments made within the last twelve months.

Our customers’ habits of noting down payments for electrical power vary and, therefore, the overview being offered will be convenient for those who keep track of meter readings themselves and make payments accordingly. Latvenergo has observed over time that, when the value-added tax or electricity rates change, the readings of the kilowatt hours consumed may sometimes differ in the records of the customer and Latvenergo. Thus, the information provided in the overview will enable customers to verify that the payments made match their electricity consumption.

The overview includes information on the electricity payments made by a customer within the last twelve-month period. In order for customers to be able ascertain that they have been accurate in their payments – that they have paid for all the power consumed but have not overpaid – the overview will show the meter reading recorded during the latest inspection by the power utility’s specialist staff.

Customers will receive the payment overview by post or at their specified e-mail address following inspections by Latvenergo staff, no more than once a year. However, customers using the self-service portal www.e-latvenergo.lv can review it at any time. In addition, it is possible to request a payment overview and to clarify any errors in case of conflicting records by calling Customer Service at 80 200 400.

The payment overview will be the fifth among the latest services introduced for Latvenergo customers in 2011. Early in the year, Latvenergo introduced a text messaging service to enable easier communication with customers in the event of supply disruptions. A Disconnections Map was posted on the company website displaying the status of disconnections nationwide. Since May, customers have been able to conclude contracts in the self-service portal www.e-latvenergo.lv, and electricity can be paid for by using a uniform, recurring payment, which allows the same amount to be paid every month.

In May 2011, the self-service portal www.e-latvenergo.lv was used by a total of 104,000 unique users, which is nearly 57,000 more than there were at the same time the year before. The e-latvenergo.lv environment enables customers to easily perform a large number of transactions and adjustments with any object without much time or effort.
