OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. Atomstroyexport CJSC passed a technical proposal for NPP construction in Jordan to the customer – KAEI (the Committee on Energy of Jordan) — in Amman (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan).

The proposal had been prepared by the Russian company in a form of EPC-contract. Atomenergoproject OJSC, Hydropress OKB OJSC, Kurchatov Institute SRT, TVEL OJSC and a number of other organizations of the nuclear power industry participated in the Russian tender offer preparation apart from Atomstroyexport OJSC.


The tender for construction of a single-power unit NPP ready-to-operate and with the option for the second power unit in Jordan had been announced on January 17, 2011. On March 29, 2011 the Jordanian party sent the tender participants the amendments to the request for the tender offer provision. In particular, it was supposed to include it into the analysis of the offered project with the consideration of the accident at Japanese Fukushima NPP. The necessary analysis from the point of view of NPP safety provision with the consideration of the initial events and refusals, observed at Fukushima NPP, was carried out by Atomenergoproekt OJSC and included into the tender offer. On June 23, 2011 the Jordanian party announced about postponing of the deadline of the financial tender offer submission for August 14, 2011.
