OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2011. Residents of Melitopol in the Zaporizhia Oblast now have access to the broadband internet service from Kyivstar. The FTTB Home Internet service developed by our company allows to receive and transmit data within the worldwide web at the speed of up to 100 Mb/sec. Melitopol became the 46th city in Ukraine where private customers will receive all advantages of modern high-quality internet access service and prompt technical support from the leading Ukrainian telecom operator.

The Home Internet service (FTTB access to the worldwide net) is now available in Melitopol, Zaporizhia Oblast. In early May 2011 Kyivstar has put into operation here fiber optic communication lines over 16 km long in total, bringing the broadband internet access service to 90 apartment buildings. As a result, over 9.5 thousand families in Melitopol can enjoy high-speed Internet access from the leading Ukrainian telecom operator.

The Home Internet service is available to residents of apartment buildings at 30th Anniversary of Victory Boulevard, Lomonosova, Kazartseva, Grizodubovoi, and Brive-la-Gaillarde Streets, and the 50th Anniversary of Victory Avenue. In future, Kyivstar plans to expand the fiber optic network and provide internet access to residents of Krasnoflotskaya, Osipenko, Gogol, and Heroes of Stalingrad Streets by the end of June 2011.

Kyivstar offers Home Internet users rate plans which are unique to Ukrainian telecom market, combining the advantages of mobile communication and landline internet access. By activating any of the Home Internet rate plans, customers will receive unlimited access to the worldwide web and may use monthly payments for the internet to pay for mobile communication services. Kyivstar customers may select the unlimited Internet access for the monthly fee that starts from UAH 55 and depends on desired access speed. At the same time, data communication and receipt speed, both in Ukraine and abroad, is the same.

As of today, FTTB broadband internet access service from Kyivstar is available to 2,633 thousand households in 25 thousand apartment buildings in 46 Ukrainian cities.
