OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2011. NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today that NEC (China) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary located in Beijing, China, was selected as one of the "Leading Enterprises" of the "2010 GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll" at the "Sixth International CSR Forum" (*1).

The "GoldenBee CSR China Honor Roll" is a professional and international Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) evaluation program organized by the China WTO Tribune (*2), a magazine published by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, with the goal of nurturing leading CSR companies in China. Enterprises that are committed to building harmonious and mutually prosperous relationships with the environment and society, constantly improving responsible competitiveness and pursuing sustainable development, are named as GoldenBee Enterprises. This program is increasingly gaining global profile in line with the economic development of China.

NEC (China) is the only one of the twelve "Leading Enterprises" whose parent company is based in Japan. NEC's high standing as a leading global IT and network solution provider that contributes to the environment and society through its business activities is thought to have assisted in the selection of NEC (China).

 The International CSR Forum has been held annually since 2005 in order to discuss economic development and CSR with global CSR organizations, leading CSR companies and other organizations from Europe and Japan. Around 300 companies in China participate in the evaluation program and 90 companies are awarded the "GoldenBee."

 The China WTO Tribune is a monthly economic magazine published by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce since 2002. The magazine aims to explain the influences of global economies on China and to indicate global economic trends. Most of its 40,000 copies are distributed to governmental organizations and state enterprises in China.
