OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2011. Passengers have been waiting for this news for a year and airline has been asked "When…" during all this time. Finally, on the 24th of July Donavia is commencing direct services from Rostov-on-Don to Tel-Aviv and back on Sundays.

Donavia has been operating flights from Rostov-on-Don to Israel for more than ten years; this is one of the most popular flights of the airline. But a year ago in July Donavia had to stop flying directly between Rostov-on-Don and Tel-Aviv.

At that moment company management decided not to stop air communication between South of Russia and Israel. That is why Donavia began to operate transit flights Rostov-Tel-Aviv via Sochi.

General Director of Donavia Vitaly Golovin comments: “Two weeks ago we received permission for a direct flight between Rostov and Tel-Aviv and from the 24th of July we are flying to Israel on Sundays without landing in Sochi. In next few months this flight on Thursdays will be operated still via Sochi but in autumn company plans to stop it and operate two direct flights Rostov-on-Don – Tel-Aviv".

Vitaly Golovin emphasizes that permission for a direct flight was received thanks to serious cooperation of company with companies-partners and Aviation Authorities of Israel.
