OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2011. Power Machines OJSC manufactured, tested and handed over to the client the final, ninth hydro generator for Boguchanskaya HPP, which is being constructed by RusHydro JSC and Rusal UC in Krasnoyarsk Krai. 

In accordance with the contracts signed in 2006–2007 by Power Machines and station construction project partners – RusHydro JSC and Rusal UC, Power Machines ensure the design and production of nine hydro turbines and nine hydro generators of nominal 333 MW capacity each for Boguchanskaya HPP. The capacity of the newly fitted out station is 3000 MW, with an average long term output of 17.6 billion kW-h. 

In addition to nine generators, Power Machines have produced for Boguchanskaya HPP eight hydro turbines and nine impellers so far. The Saint Petersburg power machine company is now completing work on a hydro shaft, the last unit of the ninth hydro turbine at its production site.

 There are eight hydro turbines, seven impellers and the main part of the equipment for five hydro generators produced by Power Machines at the station. Shipment of the sixth generator  is being completed in Saint Petersburg and work on loading the seventh has begun. According to the timetable, completion of  of hydro generator equipment supplies is scheduled for the end of 2012, when separate elements shall be produced and supplied to Boguchanskaya HPP site by other manufacturers as well. In addition, transportation of impellers No. 8 and No. 9 from Saint Petersburg to Krasnoyarsk Krai starts  at the beginning of the 2011 summer navigation period.  

At the moment, work on installing hydro units Nos. 1, 2 and 3 of the first start up complex is being carried out at the Boguchanskaya HPP construction site. Installation of hydro unit No. 1 began 1 July 2010, hydro unit No. 2 – in the first ten days of September 2010 and hydro unit No. 3 – in October 2010. The installation timelimit for the main hydro unit, taking into account commissioning, is 12 months. For the second and all other hydro units the installation cycle together with commissioning is to take 10 months.
