The best students of energy departments will be able to follow special training programmes and in future be employed at the Company enterprises. In its turn, the university will update curriculums for energy qualifications, taking into account development of modern technologies and reality of the industry development, and will be able to upgrade the scientific laboratories, and secure jobs for its best graduates.

DTEK signed similar agreements with Donetsk National Technical University and the National Mining University, where students receive the specialized education required by the Company. The two first groups of those higher education establishments will graduate this summer.

‘Business should be actively involved in tackling the problems of resources provision for education. We are ready to help with our expertise, provide internship opportunities for students in return for an opportunity to adapt university curriculums. It will help reduce the gap between the education and needs of operational enterprises. The project group in charge of this initiative includes representatives of different business blocks of DTEK and ‘KPI’ NTUU. Together they assess the students’ knowledge, design curriculum, and introduce additional training courses’, Aleksandr Kucherenko, HR Director of DTEK, commented.

‘Conclusion of the agreement with DTEK is one more step along the path our university follows to cooperation with the leading national and foreign companies that operate in real economy. Investments into engineers’ training programs are a sensible contribution of the company both in its own future, and in the future of the country. The key outcome of such a cooperation will be the graduation of highly qualified specialists for the fuel and energy sector of Ukraine, and, naturally, for the company itself’, Yuriy Yakimenko, the First Pro-Rector of ‘KPI’ NTUU, the Academician of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, believes.
