OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Trading will be authorized as of Tuesday (July 26) on BM&FBOVESPA for units in Abril Educacao S.A., which becomes the 19th company at Level 2 of corporate governance practices. The units will trade under the ABRE11 ticker symbol.

Taking part in the adhesion ceremony at the Exchange will be the firm’s Chief Executive Officer Manoel Amorim, Investor Relations Officer Marcelo Schmidt and the Chairman of the Board of Directors Roberto Civita. The units issued by the company will be included in the IGC Special Corporate Governance Stock Index.

Grupo Abril is one the largest and most influential communications groups in Latin America, providing information, culture, education and entertainment to practically all segments of the population, as well as operating in an integrated manner in a number of media.

In 2004, the Abril Group acquired 100% of the shares of the publishing houses Atica and Scipione, which even then were famous both for tradition and for being pioneering in the Brazilian textbooks market.
