OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. The Azerbaijani government is to allocate another 51.635 million manat to encourage domestic agriculture. The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan reports that it keeps on issuing subsidies in the amount of 40 manat per hectare of land sown with cereal crops for purchase of motor oil and fuel to local farmers. The decision on subsidies for this amount was taken on 21 July at a meeting of a special commission.

"Subsidies will be provided to 381 495 agricultural producers for purchase of motor oil and fuel," the MoA informed.

In order to grant subsidies, appropriate documents have been already submitted to the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan, Kapital Bank and relevant district (municipal) authorities. The process of issuing grants will begin in the near future.

The decision to grant a subsidy of 40 manat per hectare to farmers was made by the Cabinet Ministers of Azerbaijan on 15 February 2007 in accord with the presidential order from 23 January 2007.
