OREANDA-NEWS. August 8, 2011. Credit-Rating together with the Agency for Financial Initiatives (Kiev, Ukraine) have launched regular annual research of Ukrainian banks transparency.

Earlier, in 2009-2010, Credit-Rating practiced such researches based upon its own methodology, as well as information placed on Ukrainian banks websites.

The similar researches (however, grounded on wider range of data sources) were studied by Standard and Poor’s rating agency, also together with the Agency for Financial Initiatives.

Starting from 2011, Credit-Rating and the Agency for Financial Initiatives decided to conduct such a research together and jointly produced the transparency analysis methodology, based upon criteria previously used by S&P and then added and adjusted by Credit-Rating experts. Using S&P approaches for methodology background has been caused by an intension to preserve comparability of obtained data with results of the previous researches.

Outcomes of Ukrainian banks transparency research will be issued in a thematic booklet to be presented in October 2011 on a special event, as well as published in printed and electronic mass media, on the Agency’s website and special printed edition, Credit-Rating Monitor.

Credit-Rating plans to further conduct annual transparency researches, as, in our opinion, that makes a contribution to step-by-step improvement of information disclosure quality, as the latter belongs to the most significant components of developed corporative governance system.
