OREANDA-NEWS. August 15, 2011. Sales of Zhlobin-based Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) amounted to 1.282 million tonnes in January-June 2010, up 5.5% on the year, an official with the plant told reporters.

Rolled stock sales increased 5.5% to 756,288 tonnes, and steel pipe sales rose 28.9% to 6,269 tonnes. Metal cord sales went up 8.6% to 49,959 tonnes. Steel wire sales rose 27.4% to 122,274 tonnes. Bead wire sales amounted to 17,325 tonnes, up 29.8% year-on-year.

Capital investments reached 90.728 billion rubles, with the target at 64.771 billion rubles in January-June.

Foreign trade surplus amounted to USD 272.843 million, short of the USD 369.104 million target.

State company Belarusian Metallurgical Plant was launched in 1984. BMZ exports about 85% of its output. Non-CIS countries account for more than 70% of the BMZ’s exports.
