OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2011. The project „Expansion of AB „Lifosa“ efficiency through implementation of innovative technologies at upgraded Feed Phosphate Process“, partially financed by EU Structural Funds is sucessfully completed, reported the press-centre of AB „Lifosa“.

The realization of this Project started on January1, 2009.

The new line, designed for a capacity of up to 150,000 tons per year, - the best display of the latest technology and long-term experience.

The main equipment suppliers: UAB „Ekobana“, which won the tender to supply the process equipment and AB „Montuotojas“ –installed and manufactured the equipment according to AB „Lifosa“ demands. Most of the equipment supplies originated from Germany and other EU countries. These manufacturers were chosen on basis of their experience and references as against the manufacturers of special equipment. Some specific equipment, also process automation has been created by AB „Lifosa“ experts - people with extensive experience in manufacturing.

Save and except the production line, a spacious - 4 thousand square meters capacity product warehouse was equipped also. It has special separate ramps to transport feed phosphates both by trucks and by rail, packed in 25 kg or in 1 ton big bags and the bulk product. The warehouse is equipped with packing equipment, the capacity of which: bags of 1 ton - 50 t/h, and 25 kg - 25 t h.

Great attention was paid to product quality during the design and process equipment supply procedure. The production line is equipped with automatic analyzers and sampling devices for feed phosphate granules. Detailed information about the quality of the product is directly transmitted to the operator, who manages the production process. Similar equipment are installed in the product warehouse and in handling area.

Together with the implementation of this project, AB „Lifosa“ took another step forward in environmental protection. The new workshop is equipped with effective dedusting and absorption equipment therefore the process dust do not enter the environment.

The working conditions have been improved: the whole production process is automated, the operators work in spacious control rooms. The number of employees wasn‘t reduced. The employees enjoy modern and well equipped dining and recreation areas.

For implementation of the project valued over 50 million, 13,712,135 litas were allocated from the European Regional Development Fund.

Let us notice that AB „Lifosa“ started feed phosphate production in 2001. The company currently is producing Monocalcium Phosphate. In 2009 there were produced 42,500 tons.
