OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. The Board of Directors of open joint stock company RUSNANO has elected independent board member Vladislav Putilin as its chairman.

Commenting on the tasks he sees for the board, Mr. Putilin said, "I think it is very important for the Board of Directors to pursue the decisions that were adopted earlier for RUSNANO’s strategic development as a vital instrument for technological modernization and advancement of innovative sectors of industry."

Biography of Vladislav Putilin

Vladislav Putilin was born on February 1, 1947, in the village of Listopadovka in Voronezh Oblast. In 1969 he graduated from the Kharkov Higher Command and Engineering Academy with a degree as engineer-mechanic. In 1979 he graduated from the Lenin Military-Political Academy in Moscow. Mr. Putilin earned a PhD in 1990 and a doctorate in economic sciences in 2003.

Mr. Putilin spent his career, until 2002, serving in various posts in the Russian Army and completed service as colonel general in reserve. In June 2002 Vladislav Putilin was appointed deputy minister of economic development and trade of the Russian Federation. In May 2004 he was appointed director of the Department of Economics’ Programs for Defense and Safety in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation. From March 2006 to March 2011, Mr. Putilin was the first deputy chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation.
