OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2011. The “Malakhit” Investment project of IES Holding is at the final stage.

At the end of May, 2011 the installation of Siemens gas turbines SGT-800 and ancillary equipment on a construction site of the combined cycle unit (CCU) of Perm CHPP-6 was completed. Currently the mechanical verification testing of turbines as well as checking of the system facilities according to equipment and instrumentation arrangement drawings are in progress. Due to the completed installation of gas turbines the installation of waste heat boilers moved to a final stage.

At the beginning of June there was completed an installation of an integrated distribution unit with hexafluorated sulfur insulation (KRUE). This system implements a critical function of receiving power from a power unit and distributing it for further transfer by means of a power network.

KRUE installed at the CCU of Perm CHPP-6  is distinguished by multifunctional performance – a single frame includes collecting buses, a switch, disconnectors with grounding switches, current transformers which allow to reduce dimensions materially and increase the reliability of ODU (open distribution unit) of the power unit. It should be also outlined that the KRUE building is equipped with a contemporary lightning, fire protection and fire-fighting systems.

The reconstruction of  Perm CHPP-6 is a part of “Malakhit” project which is included in the “Diadema” investment program of CJSC “Integrated Energy Systems”. “Malakhit” project is a priority one for the company and is critical for the development of energy system of Perm region. As a part of project actually a new power plant on the territory of CHPP-6 was built: the combined cycle unit installed in a new CHPP building includes two SGT-800 gas turbines of the latest versions, two contemporary waste heat boilers and Siemens SST-600 steam turbine. The capacity of the power plant after commissioning will be as high as 124 MW that is twice as much as the current power capacity of the plant.

The "Malakhit" project will result in triple increase of the electrical power capacity of the plant – to 180 MW, the heating capacity – by 240 Gcal/h to 833 Gcal/h. The installed heating capacity will additionally provide heat to 50 thousand flats. Hence the city center of Perm will get new power reserves for a full development. It is planned to start the fresh capacity in Q4 of 2011.
