OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2011. Solid steel cord tires manufactured by Nizhnekamsk SSC Tires Factory (part of Tatneft-Neftekhim Management Company) under the KAMA brand have been tested by motor carriers, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The project of testing truck SSC Kama tires was launched by one of the dealers of the "KAMA" Trading House at the beginning of May 2011. The project aimed to identify how vulnerable were innovative tires to wear out and how they behaved in different road conditions. Tires KAMA NT-201 in size 385/65R22.5, designed for mounting on trailers axle were selected for the test-drive.

Implementation of the task was entrusted to "Omega" company engaged in carrying of cargos in Russia. The commercial and technical representative of "Shininvest" company performed a monthly inspection of the tires installed on the trucks and collected information on the mileage, tire pressure level, and also assessed the degree of tread wear.

Tires KAMA NT-201 mounted on the trailer covered distance of 30,000 km on a route Magnitogorsk - Moscow - St. Petersburg - Chelyabinsk - Magnitogorsk, with virtually no wear and tear: the tread depth remained the same - 16 mm. The tires pressure also turned out to be within the standard values. According to the driver of the motor-vehicle train "NT-201 tires are soft, not noisy and they ensure good controllability, both on dry and on wet roads."

The project of TATNEFT Company for manufacturing the solid steel cord tires is the most promising area of ??the tire business development. New tires are used for trucks, buses, long-haul tractors with increased load capacity. The use of SSC tires allows increasing the load capacity up to 8% and reducing fuel consumption by 15% and thanks to the possibility of triple retreading the tire mileage is increased to 500 thousand kilometers.

The design of the SSC tires allows increasing the load capacity, significantly reducing fuel consumption by trucks and buses and limiting emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The process of rubber-coating the steel cord, production of tires' parts, as well as their final assembly are carried out on high-precision equipment, virtually eliminating the human factor interference. All tires manufactured pass several control stages, including visual, X-ray control, power inhomogenuity checking and the geometry of the tires. The whole complex of measures for quality control allows offering reliable and proven products for sale.
