OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2011. More than 20 sole proprietors and heads of family and industrial farms from Prionezhsky, Suojarvi, Kondopoga, Pryazha and Sortavala regions have visited Finland within the program of Cultivation of Fruit and Berry Crops According to Modern Technologies. The trip was held on August 9-11 within the scope of the international project of Entrepreneurship in the Countryside in Territory of the Republic of Karelia and Murmansk Region implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia.

Karelian businessmen have visited five farms and acquainted themselves with the experience of growing strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, currants and their planting stock. The Finnish farmers have shared experience and technologies of storing and processing the berries, have shown mechanical appliances used in Finland.

Participants of the trip pointed out that they are going to apply the knowledge they have gained in their practice and that they hope to further cooperation within the framework of the project.
