OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2011. i-Free, which operates in Kazakhstan under the name of LLC Ifreedom, has partnered up with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan. Due to the new text messaging service entrepreneurs can find out whether the company`s audit by law-enforcement agencies is legitimate.

i-Free is a vastly experienced provider of interactive mobile services that help people obtain any kind of information, official or other, almost instantly.

The purpose of the new text messaging service, launched on the initiative of the Kazakh Prosecutor General’s Office, is to prevent abuses by law enforcement agencies and improve citizens’ access to the office. From now on, when authorities visit a company unannounced, its head can promptly find out if the visit is lawful. Previously, they had to type in the registration number of the warrant, shown by the law enforcers, on www.pravstat.kz web-site.

However, not all entrepreneurs would have immediate web access under those circumstances. The Prosecutor General’s Office decided to make inquiries even easier for entrepreneurs with a text messaging service, for which i-Free has handled the technological side and provided a short number: 1012.

Now all you have to do to find out whether if the visit is legitimate is to send the warrant registration number via sms. The reply, that takes a few seconds only, will inform the sender which location is supposed to be visited, which agency conducts the visit, and which officer of that agency is responsible.

“Services like these benefit many people,” said Ekaterina Ivanova, i-Free CIS Business Development Head, commenting on the launch. “We are glad to put our expertise, technical capability and competence in this field to such good use in Kazakhstan. We promise that the service will work without interruptions in all parts of Kazakhstan covered by cellular telephony.”

This is not the first time i-Free works with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan. Last year, i-Free-Kazakhstan provided technical support for a text messaging service under the Electronic Check project, the purpose of which is to enable all Kazakh citizens to promptly check on the status of their petitions filed with the Kazakh Prosecutor’s Office.

A text message to 1012 costs 15 tenge including VAT (USD 0,1).
